Finally I got some time yesterday to get some shots with the D700. This was a challenge even for the widest lens available ! This is where the FX helps.....I'm real close to the edge of the boat at 14mm focal length and still had to do a 30 % vertorama for the top part of the boat ! with my D80+ sigma 10mm this would have been impossible given I'd have to tilt the lens further up and face the distortion challenge and alignment issues.
I took some night shots at 1200 ISO and f2.8...crisp ! will post em next
NO HDR! DRI- Digital blending from 5 exposures and then added the top end to get the tree and the light on the boat - vertorama. there is about 10 %(a little bit of HDR) tone mapping in this for the motor and some items on the boat

Seen on your photo stream.(?)D700 has the full sensor. Just smaller and lighter body witgh less battery life and few less bells and whistles. it is my next camera hands down.
