My husband Chris...Yes, I go into the water with my D200!
I fish and then run back to the river bank for the camera...then fish.....
What the camera cannot show: the quiet... the only sounds are of the fish jumping, birds chirping.
It was an amazing morning.
On the technical side:
I read once that the lighting changes every ten seconds at sunrise and sunset.
The three or four shots before this one and after, did not have the same light. There was mist on the water but the lighting was not the same, more grey, darker, not reflected on the water as it is here. So, lighting is very important!
See "more properties" on the sidebar for more of the other technical info.

You caught some spectacular light, and the hues are just lovely. And, yes, I think you also captured the peacefulness of this scene - I could see the quiet, just couldn't hear the birds...!
Very, very nice image...!

What a beautiful shot. The light, the slow river, the tranquillity, the delicate sliver of the fishing rod, the relaxed pose of the person fishing, the wonderful vignetted shadows caused by the light splitting the trees, the line of silver light picking out the surface of the jetty, absolutely perfect.
